Our journey began on a life-changing trip to Rajasthan, India, where we were completely captivated by the artistry and craftsmanship behind handmade quilts. During our visit, we witnessed the incredible skill of artisans in rural India, who use time honoured techniques to create stunning quilts, each one a labor of love, created with 100% cotton and dyed using natural vegetable dyes.I was so mesmerised by the beauty of these quilts and the intricate process behind their creation that I knew I had to share this art with the world. I bought several quilts during my trip, some to gift to friends and family and others to keep for myself. As I used them, I was struck not only by their beauty but by their extraordinary comfort and warmth. It didn’t take long for me to realise that I had to bring this beautiful tradition to a wider audience.Thus, Summer Stories was born! A platform to share the heritage and craftsmanship of these artisans with the world.
